Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (arranged for violin and string orchestra)
From Venice to Buenos Aires: Antonio Vivaldi and Astor Piazzolla bring the Four Seasons to life in a musically captivating performance. A journey through all weather conditions and emotional states, in which the 17 string players of the SKO showcase their entire stylistic range, from virtuosic, lively Baroque to velvety, dark tango.
‘Eight Seasons’ combines two crystal-clear crowd-pullers from the concert repertoire: Antonio Vivaldi's ‘Four Seasons’ and Astor Piazzolla's ‘Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas’. With this pairing, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra offers a concept that connects different audiences — from classical music lovers to tango fans and a curious city theatre audience. Vivaldi provides formal brilliance and soloist virtuosity, while Piazzolla complements this with rhythm, melancholy and urban Argentine charm; both cycles complement each other dramaturgically and thematically. Artistically sophisticated yet immediately accessible, the programme creates several entry points for audience communication: familiar melodies, dance and listening experiences, programme texts with storytelling potential and attractive press/social media motifs. For organisers: low risk, high visibility, broad target group appeal and numerous opportunities for cooperation (dance, film, parquet events). Ideal for concert series, festivals and themed evening programmes.
