“Brilliantly focused, expressive sound … an absolute delight from start to finish.” (BBC Music Magazine on Rosanne Philippens)

Sometimes music begins with a single note – warm, luminous, unmistakable. When Rosanne Philippens draws her bow, the distinctive voice of her 1704 Antonio Stradivari violin comes to life: an instrument of rare colour and depth, whose magic lends its name to the programme ‘Stradivari’s Magic’.
Together with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Philippens guides the audience through musical worlds ranging from Johann Sebastian Bach to Igor Stravinsky. Baroque clarity, romantic longing in Tchaikovsky and the dazzling colours of the 20th century come together. The result is a musical arc spanning three centuries – carried by the unmistakable voice of a great violinist and the mysterious sound of her Stradivarius.
